Marmaris Shopping

Marmaris

Marmaris is a typical tourist resort and start point for Marmaris blue cruise. It has an endless number of shops selling typical souvenirs ranging from Turkish Delight to pottery, leather, metalwork, jewellery, precious metals and carpets. Turkey is famous for its textiles and although you may not be buying originals, if you have an eye and feel for quality you can get excellent clothing that will impress everyone when you get home.

You will have to haggle; the locals expect it and if you are determined you can get significant reductions from the original price quoted.

Those staying at self-catering accommodation will probably need a good supermarket even if they are not going to cook every day. Tansas, Migros, and Kipa will have anything you might need for cooking at home.

Local Markets

Markey day is a tourist attraction; clothing as well as wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables. Marmaris market has great shopping and is open every Thursday and nearby Icmeler Wednesday.

Brand shopping

Netsel Marina is probably the best place to find famous brands with plenty of restaurants to eat in and bars for a drink nearby once you’ve finished shopping.

Carpets

The Carpet School Marmaris is educational, while another place for carpet shopping is in the village of Turgut.
