About Seven Islands

Seven Islands is a series of islands that lay within Gokova Bay. This series of islands is in the province of Bodrum. The beautiful little outlets and areas in between the islands make for an idyllic setting to anchor down and explore. You may choose to just go for a swim or snorkel along the shores or take your walking shoes with you to go for a wander on the islands. One of the islands known as Kufre is well worth swimming over to and wandering along its pine-clad shores to look for the hidden houses within the forest. No matter where you anchor along with this little outlet you will not be disappointed.

Things to do in Seven Islands

The seven islands located between the capes Teke Burnu and Taneli Burnu are among the many superb boat trip destinations in Turkey. As suggested by the name the seven islands consist of seven small islands off the coast of south-west region of the Gulf of Gökova. Along with some splendid coral reefs, these islands form a chain. Hiring a yacht and picking a favourite spot to drop anchor is the most fascinating thing to do here. Among the seven islands three are located on the north and the other four are located on the northeast and southwest of the Gulf. Caution is advised while sailing as some extensions of these islands lie underwater and endanger the boats to go aground. But if you are sailing with one of the many experienced captains in the region you can certainly leave it up to them and enjoy your time watching the picturesque landscapes.

The natural scenery of the area is quite breathtaking and charming. You can spend your whole day laying on the boat just looking at the pine forests by the hill slopes or the rocky walls of the nearby cliffs. The sea here is calm and cool almost all the time making it a perfect place for swimming and a bit of snorkelling. The most delightful time for snorkelling is in the morning just before breakfast. You can also take a walk along the coast. A walk in the high grounds of the coastline makes it possible to gain a panoramic view of the islands. After a bit of swimming and enjoying the nature, you can always go to the local villages to gather some souvenirs for home and buy some tasty local food. Nearby towns, islands and villages include Orak Island and Karacasogut Village.
