About Twelve Islands
The 12 Islands are located in the Gulf of Fethiye and Gocek Islands area. It is very much a relaxing way to see some of this coastline and area as there is less motoring involved between the islands, so leaves more time for swimming and basking in the sun. It is a slower paced and enjoyable alternative to the Fethiye Olympos coastline that is very popular. Some of the islands within the 12 Islands region include Tersane Island, Yassica Island and Red Island to name a few. The islands can be quite barren, so it really leaves you plenty of time for swimming in the crystal clear waters, snorkeling or lazing in the sun.
Things to do in Twelve Islands
The Twelve Islands in the Fethiye Bay is a very charming and intriguing location for a boat trip. In this trip you will be able to enjoy the very fascinating natural landscapes, turquoise waters and some magnificent beaches. Most prominent of these twelve islands are Dockyard Island, Red Island, Flat Island, Gocek Island, Rabbit Island, Tersane Island, Paradise Bay, Aquarium bay, Cleopatra's Bath and a few more. All the trips generally stop at around six of these islands and cruise by the rest for viewing. The most popular trip in this region is the Fethiye to 12 Islands four day cruise. This runs usually only at the start and end of the season however.
Though there is lots of relaxing and swimming on this cruise, there are also plenty of other activities to keep you busy. This includes your visit to Flat Island where an offering of watersports is available. Everything from banana rides and ringo rides to water skiing. Also at Flat Island, we encourage guests to walk along the shallow sand bars between each connecting island.
All the way you will be able to sip your glass or lay back as you appreciate the translucent beauty of the Gulf of Fethiye. The shoreline with rocky cliffs and pine forests has an aura of peacefulness about them. Every now and then you might spot a dolphin or even a flying fish or a sea turtle. If you are willing to spend a little more money you can also arrange for some lovely watersports like jet skiing, banana boat riding, ringo etc. You will also have the opportunity to walk along the shores of some of the islands like Flat Island, which is considered the most beautiful among the 12 islands. On the upper deck, a BBQ lunch after a bit of sunbathing can be memorable.
